Community Resource offer free Let’s Talk Falls workshops to help you reduce your risk of falling, and also to develop a personal falls plan. The aim of this workshop is to give you practical advice on staying safe and confident at home in your community. If you’ve started to feel a bit less steady on your feet recently, or you’re concerned that someone close to you may be at risk of falling, this session will include: expert advice and a short film on how to reduce your risk of falling; step by step guidance on how to get up safely if you do fall; chair based exercises demonstrated live, plus a take home booklet; physical activity tips tailored for older adults; and a gentle introductory exercise session and info on local and online exercise opportunities. These workshops typically last a couple of hours and are available at venues across the county. Community Resource also run other health workshops covering a range of different topics including arthritis, continence, diabetes, healthy eating, menopause, and stroke.
