The Community Foundation operates across the ceremonial county of Shropshire, and covers the areas administered by Shropshire Council and Telford & Wrekin Council. The Foundation works with businesses and individuals who care about their local community, and want to make a difference to the lives of local people. They manage grant programmes to support the local voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) sector, that may be funded by government, local authorities, statutory agencies, the private sector, or individuals who want to give something back. They also offer many other services that help to strengthen the VCSE sector, and support cross-sector working between the VCSE, public and private sectors. Some of these services are delivered directly by the Community Foundation, and some are delivered via active partnerships, where they offer support to someone that is already providing services.
