Beacon is a day care provision offering a varied activity programme to encourage mental and physical health and wellbeing within a caring and supportive environment. Regular activities include: arts and crafts, boccia, skittles and ball games, cookery sessions, dominoes, cards, scrabble, jigsaws and other board games, events, entertainments and outings, quizzes, discussions, reminiscences, crosswords and puzzles, small pot gardening, and tablets for online use. This service can help people with a wide variety of needs including, but not restricted to: dementia, mental health needs, physical disabilities, and social isolation. Based at the Mayfair Community Centre, the Beacon is currently open for pre-booked sessions each Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, from 10am to 4pm. All staff are fully trained and qualified to help meet your individual care and support needs, and to support your family. They may also be able to help you to access Mayfair’s other activities and services. A free half-day visit is available to enable you to ask questions and to see if they are able to support you in the way that you wish.
