Acton Scott Heritage Farm is traditional historic working farm, located in South Shropshire. Feed your curiosity with a day out on the Farm! From working fields and traditional machinery to rare breed farm animals and traditional craft demonstrations, the Farm offers a full day of discovery for families, Victorian Farm enthusiasts, history-lovers and curious minds alike. The Farm is situated in the 18th century Home Farm of the Acton Scott Estate, and was the first of its kind, originally conceived by Thomas Acton more than a generation ago, to keep alive the 19th century farming practices he grew up with. Now managed by the Acton Scott Heritage Farm charitable trust, the Farm gives visitors the chance to travel back in time to see what life was like in the past for farmers and their families working the land, plus offers the opportunity to meet some of the animals that would have been a large part of farming life, such as Shropshire sheep, Dairy Shorthorn cattle, Call ducks, Dorking chickens, Shire horses, Golden Guernsey goats, classic Gloucester Old Spot pigs and Brecon Buff geese. Accessibility: Our site is fairly flat and is generally accessible for pushchairs and wheelchairs, however please do be aware that our tour route will include some uneven ground and cobbles. Dogs are permitted in restricted areas of the Farm – including the Cafe garden. Unfortunately, they are not permitted past the bridge which leads into the central farmyard due to our livestock.
