Community Resource offer free Healthy Eating Awareness workshops to support you in making positive changes to your diet and nutritional health and wellbeing. The aim of this workshop is to help you discover what a healthy diet looks like and how small changes can make a big difference to your wellbeing. If you or someone you care for are confused about what you should and shouldn’t eat, and want to learn how to improve your nutrition and health, this workshop will help you: learn about the Eatwell Guide and how to read food labels by watching our NHS dietitian’s films; explore ultra-processed foods, sugar habits, and common food myths; understand pre-diabetes, what to look out for and how to take action; take part in an introductory 30 minute gentle exercise session led by a qualified instructor; and get tips on staying active and hear about local opportunities to become or keep active. These workshops typically last 2.5 hours and are available at venues across the county. Community Resource also run other health workshops covering a range of different topics including arthritis, continence, diabetes, falls prevention, menopause, and stroke.
