Upper Onny Wildlife Group normally holds open meetings at the Crown Inn, Wentnor and an annual meeting in a local village hall (in 2022 the annual meeting has been postponed until the autumn). The group contributes to species surveys, recording and training (mostly summertime) within the Upper Onny catchment area. Curlew, lapwing and plants are the main interests. There are also bird and wildflower walks and special projects, for example survey and control by pulling of invasive Himalayan Balsam in the Upper Onny valley. New for 2022 are activities focusing on dragonflies and damselflies, linking into efforts to reverse the decline of upland species found in our area. New members are welcome, and the group is open to suggestions for projects or surveying of other species or groups. For more information, please follow the link to visit the website.
