I am a graded good, Ofsted registered childminder who has also been CRB checked. I consider myself to be a warm, caring, professional, reliable, approachable and positive person. I have been lucky enough to have worked with children since I left school and am also mum to two grown up children. I think it is important to create a natural setting as possible but to also give children exposure to a variety of experiences. As such I have a purpose built setting, including outside space, that allows me to organise different activities and cater for children’s individual needs and preferences. I also like to divide time between the setting and visiting educational and recreational places. I really believe in letting children learn through play, am an advocate for inclusivity and allow children to make choices for themselves, when appropriate. I believe that the children in my setting would describe it as a fun place to be, a home from home environment, where they are cared for and listened to and a place where they have made new friends. Working with children has always been a vocation for me. I have been registered as a childminder for 26 years and have loved every minute of it. During this time I have gained experience of caring for children of all ages including those with disabilities and learning difficulties. I have also continued with my personal and professional development undertaking a variety of relevant qualifications and training courses. I have completed a BA Honours in Early Years and I am accredited to deliver Nursery Education to 2, 3-4 years olds. 24U funding and the 30 hours universal funding.
