Coram Beanstalk is a national charity that aims to help children become confident readers. Their volunteers are at the heart of what they do. Each week they deliver fun, interactive, reading experiences. They provide one to one support to children, who are behind, giving them the help and encouragement they need to catch up – to switch onto reading, learn to read and become readers for life. Do you have a few hours spare during the school day? Would you like to become a volunteer? Are you able to: Be open to learning and delivering our approach to help children become readers? Give your ongoing commitment and dedication to the charity and the children supported? Travel to a partner primary schools for a few hours each week during their afternoon sessions? You can apply via their website. For schools They provide one-to-one, in-person reading support for primary schools, encouraging reading for pleasure among pupils and improve reading attainment.
