Weston Rhyn Primary School is a welcoming and friendly school situated at the heart of the village of Weston Rhyn, between Oswestry and Chirk, on the Shropshire/North Wales border. We are fortunate to have a large school site with six classrooms in the main building, two classrooms in our EYFS building (which is also home to a privately managed playgroup in the afternoon), two playgrounds, a field and a forest school area. Classrooms are spacious, light and welcoming with quiet learning spaces available for children to access throughout the school. Our EYFS building contains a 26 place Nursery and a Reception class. At Weston Rhyn, we believe that the Early Years provides an important start to a child’s learning journey. By starting school in Nursery, children learn to play, talk and challenge themselves so that they develop a love for learning. It is important that our youngest children have opportunities to explore their world and build relationships with adults and children outside of their family so that they can grow in confidence. We value outdoor learning, talking and taking risks in the Early Years. From September 2024 our nursery will run in the mornings for 3 & 4 years and in the afternoon for 2-4 year olds. Children from the age of 3 years old can also access a privately run breakfast and after school club provided by Cool Kidz on site up until 6pm.
