Greenacres is a friendly and welcoming school, set on the outskirts of Shrewsbury in a close knit and supportive community.We are part of the Empower Multi-Academy Trust. We believe that children learn best in an attractive, stimulating environment and work hard to produce a calm, well presented setting in which the children feel safe and secure. Through our broad and balanced curriculum offer, we drive to inspire, develop and encourage the knowledge, skills and understanding that every child needs to go on and be a successful and valuable member of the wider community. We offer breakfast club Monday to Friday from 8.15am until the school starts and an after school club until 5.30pm. Greenacres Primary School has an onsite Early Years class with a mix of Nursery (Acorns) and Reception aged children. We offer places to children for the term after they are 3 with three intakes across the year. Children settle quickly because there are a wide range of different activities to engage them across all areas of learning. Good teaching and an effective curriculum provide children activities carefully balanced between those led by adults and those selected by the children. We have a great outdoor space and make good use of the forest school area with Forest school sessions taking place every Monday. Nursery Session Times are Monday: Friday 8.50am – 11.50am – 12.15pm – 3.15pm. Lunch Club runs from 11.50-12.15 each day at an extra cost. Places are funded by the government through either 15 hours funding available to all children (the term after they are three) or for those parents who are eligible to claim a 30 hours code.The Nursery runs a waiting list system and advise parents to provisionally add children’s names and possible session requirements as early as possible.
