Sustrans is a charity making it easier for people to walk and cycle. Their vision is a society where the way we travel creates healthier places and happier lives for everyone. They create places that are walkable and cycle-friendly; support people in their communities to have the opportunity and ability to walk, cycle, scoot or wheel; and work with decision-makers to create policies that make walking and cycling a more attractive choice. Sustrans are the creators and custodians of the National Cycle Network, and work with many partners and stakeholders to develop the Network across the UK. The vast majority of the Network is owned by a variety of landowners, local authorities and other bodies. They are supported in caring for it by Sustrans staff, volunteers and many of the communities the Network serves. For more information, please follow the link to visit their website.
