The Whitchurch Singers is an informal group for people who enjoy singing, with the emphasis on enjoyment, and not perfection. They meet at the Watergate Centre, each Monday evening, from 7pm to 8.30pm (excluding bank holidays). New members of all abilities are always very welcome and musical knowledge is not required. There is a small fee of £3 per session, which includes a cup of tea or coffee and a biscuit during a break. The group sings popular songs such as: ‘The Wonder of You’ a hit for Elvis Presley, Whitney Houston’s ‘One Moment in Time’, ‘Some Kind of Wonderful’ made popular by The Drifters, and Motown’s ‘River Deep Mountain High’ a hit for The Supremes and the Four Tops, and many more. It is well known that singing brings on the ‘feel good factor’, and members of the group can also enjoy the opportunity to socialise during the break.
