Much Wenlock, Broseley and District u3a is a voluntary organisation providing opportunities for retired and semi-retired people to come together and develop their interests by sharing their knowledge and experience with others. The Branch currently has some 30 active interest groups covering a broad range of topics from academic (politics) and music (ukulele), to hobbies (watercolour painting) or pure leisure (out with friends). There are no entrance qualifications, set curriculum or examinations. Groups are run informally by members who volunteer to pass on their valuable knowledge to others, or the members work together to learn collaboratively. Monthly talks take place in the Priory Hall, and are open to all members (and non-members for a nominal fee). At most meetings an experienced speaker is invited to give a talk on a subject of general interest, with complimentary refreshments provided afterwards, allowing members to enjoy socialising over tea and biscuits.
