Cleobury Compassionate Communities (CoCo) is a free befriending project for the patients of Cleobury Mortimer Medical Practice. Their aim is to carefully match trained volunteers on a 1:1 basis with someone in the community who can benefit from their time and friendship. The service is available to anyone over the age of 18, with an emphasis on those who might be lonely and isolated, who perhaps suffer with a long term condition that makes independent living difficult, or those who care for someone else. CoCo also run Coffee Mornings which are held upstairs at the Market Hall (lift access is available) on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month. Everyone will always be met with a warm welcome, and a cup of tea or coffee and a slice of home-made cake can be enjoyed for £3.00. Affiliated to Severn Hospice, there are well over 20 ‘CoCo’ projects across Shropshire, and in Cleobury Mortimer there are currently over 20 active volunteers at any one time, but the project is always looking for more to join. If you are interested in volunteering with this rewarding project, or would like to refer someone who could benefit from a volunteer visit of 2 hours per week, please follow the link to visit their website, or contact using the details provided.
