Shropshire Sailing Club is a family club that has been located on the northern shore of Whitemere since it was first formed in 1950.The Club has a strong family focus and currently has 250 members, including over 130 Junior and Youth members, aged between 8 and 18.It offers a range of activities including:dinghy and small keelboat racing;recreational sailing;a small fleet of Hansa’s and a large Kinsman to allow total novices of any ability to enjoy sailing;as a member you can stand-up paddle board;a vibrant youth section, with junior and youth classes;instruction and coaching to learn and improve your skills; anda variety of social events.There are meets on Wednesdays from mid-April to September, Saturdays from April to October, and Sundays from March to December. Racing takes place on Sundays and cruising on all other days. The club has a full Youth Programme and social events throughout the year.Shropshire Sailing Club is one of several RYA (Royal Yachting Association) Training Centres in Shropshire, and is also a recognised RYA Sailability Centre, offering sailing opportunities to people with health conditions or impairments.
