SCRUA represents people who are interested in maintaining and improving rail services between Shrewsbury and Chester, an important route within the Wales and Borders rail franchise which serves Wrexham General, Ruabon, Chirk and Gobowen stations. Members include people who live locally and use the train services regularly, as well as others from further afield who may use the line occasionally, or are interested in its future development. Local authorities, including parish/town and community councils, in areas served by the line are corporate members. Transport for Wales took over the running of rail services on the line in October 2018. A new service between Wrexham/ Chester and Liverpool Lime Street via Liverppol South Parkway (for the airport) began in May 2019 and by 2021 there is to be a two-hourly express service between Cardiff and Liverpool along with a fleet of new trains. A newsletter, ‘Severn-Dee News’, is published three times a year and is available at Oswestry Library. https://en-gb.facebook.com/ShrewsburyChester We're sorry but <%= htmlWebpackPlugin.options.title %> doesn't work properly without JavaScript enabled.
