The Sleep Apnoea Trust (SATA) is a national charity working to improve the lives of sleep apnoea patients, their partners and families. Managed mainly by volunteers, SATA is regarded as the leading UK charity working in the field of Sleep Apnoea. SATA is a patient support charity run by patients, for patients and funded almost entirely by patients who become members. It is dedicated to increasing understanding, diagnosis and treatment of this serious illness. The Trust helps anyone interested in, concerned about or worried about sleep apnoea, with the most comprehensive and up to date website. Newsletters are published quarterly. They also assist research into the condition and are a key factor in in successful applications for clinical trials. By being the voice of the sleep apnoea patient, they also act as an effective pressure group for change and improvement. Whilst the Trust supports patients in many ways, it does not provide medical direct advice. If you suspect you may be suffering from sleep apnoea please contact your GP who will be able to refer you to a specialised sleep clinic.
