The UK Lung Cancer Coalition (UKLCC) is the UK’s largest multi-interest group in lung cancer and was established in 2005 to help bring lung cancer out of the political, clinical and media shadow. They are a campaigning group and not a patient group, though many of their members are patient organisations. The UKLCC was set up with the founding ambition of tackling poor survival outcomes, and specifically to double 5-year survival by 2015, which has now effectively been achieved (in England). The UKLCC is now calling for governments, commissioners and the health care community to re-double efforts and work together to raise 5-year rates to 25% by 2025 across the UK.
