A special early opening for families with children who would enjoy the museum at a quieter time. This would particularly suit those with ASD and other sensory processing differences. On the first Saturday of the month, they open the museum exclusively before hours, and wherever possible will have adjusted operations and/or lowered volume levels on exhibits. Enjoy exploring at your own pace or take part in a museum led activity. March 4th – Rockets. Build, decorate and launch your own rocket. Can land it on the alien planet Zarg? April 1st – Easter Fun. Print an Easter card! May 6th – Boats. Design and build a boat. Will it float? June 3rd – Pewter Casting. Watch pewter change state from silver liquid to a shiny solid as you cast your own mini brick! July 1st – Summer is coming. Decorate your own fabric fan to keep you cool!
