The Cavalier Centre is a purpose-built inclusive and accessible equestrian centre located just outside Much Wenlock, offering horse-based activities and programmes to help develop life skills, emotional intelligence and wellbeing, all supported by their team of volunteers. The Centre provides a range of activities, including: Riding for the Disabled (RDA) – fun lessons for all abilities with the opportunity for progression or simply to enjoy the benefits of equine time, Carriage Driving – specially designed accessible carriages including wheelchair use providing an equine experience for everyone, Horse Care Sessions – open to all, fun and friendly sessions learning how to care for the horses, Quiet Time with a Pony – tailored to specific needs an opportunity to spend sensory time with a pony, Vaulting – a fun physical activity which is great for balance and fitness, Hippotherapy – physio on horseback, Tea with a Pony – to stimulate (through touch, smell and sense) reminiscent memories, particularly for people living with Dementia. They also offer additional programmes and facilities, such as: Changing Lives Through Horses – a character-building programme to develop life skills, Stable Relationships – an intensive 1:1 Emotional Intelligence Course, Alternative provision, supporting children and young people above 4 years old, who struggle with mainstream settings.
