Farm Fridays are a weekly volunteering day offered by Fordhall Organic Farm, the first community owned farm in England. The Fordhall Community Land Initiative as a social enterprise provides educational and social prescribing resources, helping people to connect food, the environment and farming. They are able to offer ongoing weekly practical conservation volunteering opportunities, taking part in outdoor work parties on Fridays, from 10am to 4pm, for a suggested minimum of 4-6 weeks. Volunteers must be able to work safely with a range of tools (instruction will be given), and will be working in all weather. They may also be required to use and develop a level of strength / physical fitness. Fordhall Farm may need information on health conditions that affect mobility and access to walks, so please call to discuss requirements as necessary. Please take along a packed lunch; alternatively, there is a farm shop and tearoom on site. All are welcome, but please call to discuss your needs beforehand. Farm Friday sessions are free, but donations are always most welcome.
