Climbing Out is a charity that works with young people aged 18 – 30 years old facing life changing injury, trauma or illness. They run 5 day residential outdoor activity programmes that aim to help the participants regain their confidence and self esteem and to give them the opportunity to realise what they can still achieve despite the challenges they face. Climbing Out’s goal is to challenge and inspire the young people and, in doing so, help them realise their full potential and self worth, despite serious injury or illness. The week consists of a wide range of outdoor activities including climbing, kayaking, gorge scrambling and hill walking, all of which are bespoke to the needs and capabilities of the young people. There is a focus on personal development throughout the week, using the activities as a vehicle to boost the confidence and self esteem of the youngsters taking part. Evening activities also take place, aimed at developing the social integration of the young people, who have often become detatched from their peer groups. “This week has changed my life, it has made me realise that I can do so much more than I normally could. From now on I’m going to start saying yes to life and I’m going to pursue my dreams and enjoy life.” https://www.facebook.com/ClimbingOutCharity Climbing Out – Club http://climbingout.org.uk/index.php/climbing-out-club/ Climbing Out – Programmes https://climbingout.org.uk/our-programmes/ Please contact provider for costs.
