Clun Amateur Dramatic Society (CADS) aims to encourage and promote amateur drama, putting on at least two major shows each year, plus several smaller scale performances. CADS was reformed at the end of 2021 after a break of 20 years. Their first performance, a Christmas 2021 variety show, was changed to an April’s Fool 2022 show due to Covid. During 2022, they also performed at the Clun Carnival, the Green Man festival and the Open Gardens weekend. The Society meet and perform at the Clun Memorial Hall, with lots of informal gatherings and rehearsals at each other’s houses. They believe that people join CADS to have fun and that that this is reflected in their performances. They currently have over 20 members who write, perform, direct, produce, build the sets, sounds and lighting, as well as huge support for front of house, catering and marketing from volunteers who don’t have time to commit to rehearsals; however, new members and volunteers are always most welcome.
