Thomas Adams is a unique School, Sixth Form and Boarding House with a wonderful history and a forward-thinking outlook. Thomas Adams School is a happy, caring school with an excellent reputation in the community for academic success and pastoral support. The School’s Vision is that all students, whatever their circumstances, achieve their potential and are ready to contribute fully to their families, community and society. This is not to be defined in terms of just examination success but includes achievement in all other areas including the ability to continue learning, solve problems, develop resilience and be active, informed citizens, prepared for life in modern-day Britain. There are two main sites on the same large campus, which are approximately five minutes apart on foot. The Lowe Hill buildings cater for the 11-16 age range and provide excellent facilities for all curricular areas. At the Noble Street site of the campus, they have their Sixth Form. Housed in the attractive old grammar school buildings the sixth form enjoys the best of history and modernity, with first class new facilities provided more recently. The Sixth Form provides an attractive environment for Year 12/13 students. The sixth-formers enjoy a high degree of independence whilst still feeling a part of the whole school experience, with students aged 11-18. There is excellent IT provision on both sites. Adams House is their thriving boarding house, welcoming students from Britain and abroad. Able to cater for up to approximately 60 boarders, Adams House has been rated ‘good’ by Ofsted. The School is renowned for its Music, Drama and Sport. They have specialist Centres for all of these subjects with full performance facilities. They also have a multi-use sports centre, while their extensive playing fields give them additional sports facilities including tennis courts, artificial cricket wicket, basketball courts, hard surface play areas and many pitches for team games.
