Woodlands School accommodates the three sites at Wem, Bishop’s Castle and Oswestry. Woodlands Wem: Woodlands Wem are a Shropshire Local Authority special school catering for pupils in Key Stage 3 and 4 who have social. Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH). They cater for up to 56 pupils from year 7 to Year 11, organised in teaching groups of 8. Each group is usually taught by one teacher and one Special Support Assistant. Woodlands Oswestry: Woodlands Oswestry provides education for pupils with challenging behaviour in a small setting with high ratios of staff. The curriculum covers all subjects which would be found in a mainstream setting delivered in a nurturing environment allowing all pupils to fully engage in the education process and therefore reach their personal potential. Woodlands Bishop’s Castle: Woodlands Bishop’s Castle provides a nurturing environment for children in Key Stage 2 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. Bishop’s Castle offers all that a larger setting is able to provide with the additional advantage of small groups and high staff ratios. Woodlands Outreach: Woodlands Outreach are team of experienced and highly qualified specialist advisory teachers providing advice and support to schools, children and young people and families across Shropshire and neighbouring counties. Woodlands Outreach is a well-established, highly respected and flexible traded service providing pupil assessment, training and consultancy to schools, Local Authorities and other agencies across Shropshire and surrounding counties.
