The Rainbow Foundation is an active ageing charity that delivers services to improve the health and wellbeing of local communities. Their aim is for people to regain their sense of worth and discover their full potential, and to achieve this they offer a range of interventions including a Day Opportunities service which provides social engagement for the elderly and a Home Care service which delivers support in the home. In addition, Rainbow Meals provides healthy, nutritious, and affordable meals to people at home, while their Community Transport provides a vital service which allows people to retain a level of independence which would otherwise be out of reach. The Rainbow Foundation’s community outreach work also provides free information, support, and advice for over 50’s in local communities, and their Social Prescribing service works with GPs across the whole of Wrexham to support anyone over 18. This includes social and support groups which take place at one of their three hubs in Penley, Marchwiel and Chirk, as well as in local community spaces. Support and social interest groups available include: Bereavement Support Group Fit Futures Strength and Balance classes Gentlemen’s Brunch Club Knit, Natter and Crochet Groups Menopause Support Group Mobile Library Pilates Rainbow Art Group Rainbow Lunch Clubs at two locations Rainbow Singers Reminiscence Choir. The Rainbow Foundation accepts private clients as well as those funded by Shropshire Council.
