The Educational Psychology Service (EPS) provides psychological advice to the local authority as part of the Education, Health and Care Planning process to inform decision making around placement and provision. In addition to the LA work they provide a traded service to schools. What they do:Give advice for Looked After Children as part of the LAC Education & Health Team.Give advice as part of the Child Development Centre multidisciplinary assessment for children aged 0-5 with complex needs.Critical Incident and Bereavement Response Support to schools following the sudden death of a staff member or pupil. In some cases this may include associated specialist case work.Give advice and support to the LA for young people aged between 16-25 including assistance with capacity assessments.Therapeutic support to specialist settings including specialist advice on Autism or young people experiencing high levels of anxiety. Interventions to assist young people with emotional health and well being within educational settings.“Extremely easy to talk to, felt that the Educational Psychologist understood my child”. “Fantastic – useful to get feedback and information, I can now start supporting my child straight away”.
