Worfield Cricket Club was founded in 1883. The Club runs four Senior league sides, three playing in The Shropshire County Cricket League, two on Saturday and one on Sunday, as well as a Women’s team playing in the Women’s Midlands League Premier West. The Club also has a thriving Boys & Girls Junior Section with coaching every Friday evening, weather permitting, and runs several junior teams who compete in local leagues. Older juniors have the opportunity to play adult league cricket. Worfield were the first club in Shropshire to organise a competition in the new 100 ball format, and the ‘Smash’ has become very popular, with games taking place on Wednesday and Thursday evenings. It is an open family Club, where new members are always welcome, and it has a vibrant social side with a number of events throughout the year, including an annual autumn ball in October.
