Nacro’s national Criminal Record Support Service offers advice and support to people with criminal records, and professionals working with them, about meeting their resettlement needs. This includes securing employment, accessing housing and education and identifying local support services. Within their service sits their dedicated Employer Advice Service, which seeks to promote best practice among employers, education providers and other organisations by giving them the confidence to assess and manage risk in relation to criminal record matters and allegations. They help prisoners and people with criminal records, practitioners who work with people with offending histories, employers, education providers and regulating bodies, key decision makers within Government. They offer helpline and online advice and guidance about accessing employment, housing and local resettlement services, legal advocacy support to people who have been treated unfairly because of their criminal record or because of allegations made against them, employability programmes that support people with criminal records into employment with local organisations, training and consultancy to practitioners and organisations.
