The Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Society in Shropshire offers support, self help, advice and friendship to people with MS, their families and friends. Shropshire is covered by two branches of the MS Society, based in Shrewsbury and Telford. The groups also aim to raise money for activities locally and to support research into finding a cure. The Shrewsbury MS Group merged with the former Oswestry group in 2021 and is looking to develop suitable activities in the Oswestry area in the future. However, currently meetings take place at The Lantern on the first Thursday of each month, from 10am to 3pm, with an exercise class in the morning and a speaker or activity in the afternoon. A variety of additional weekly activities include: T’ai Chi, Yoga, Pilates, Nordic Walking, and Movement to Music seated in chairs. Sessions are free to anyone with MS within the group’s area, but there are no classes in August. For more details, please follow the link to visit their website, or contact the branch helpline for up-to-date information about activities.
