The YoungMinds Parents Helpline is available to offer advice to anyone worried about a child or young person under 25. You may have questions about a child’s behaviour, emotional wellbeing, or mental health condition. You may have a child who’s already been admitted to CAMHS and have questions about their treatment or want to know what to say to your GP when you visit them. Trained advisers are here to give you help and advice, whatever the question. The frontline staff provide callers with the time, space and assistance to explore their situation and find a way forward. Tailored packs of information are sent to each caller including information about the issues discussed and relating national and local support services. When situations are particularly complex or difficult, staff are able to refer callers for a call back, where a Mental Health specialist provides a free 50-minute consultation within just 7 days. Helpline staff are experienced in discussing any range of issues including Depression, Anxiety, Behaviour Management, Self-harm, Divorce and Separation, problems at School, Bullying, Transitions, Eating disorders, Drugs, and bereavement.
