Castlefields Primary School was established in 1973; they have seven classrooms teaching children from Reception Class to Year 6. Castlefields School Nursery is located within the main School for children from aged 3 years. All at Castlefields Primary School share the school vision of, “Enjoy, Dream, Discover” and we have created a safe, happy and supportive environment which values and nurtures every child. We aim to develop each child emotionally, physically, intellectually, spiritually and socially, so that they are able to fulfil their true potential and are prepared for the next stage in their education. The school offers a breakfast club from 8am and wrap around care from 3.15pm until 5.30pm. These are available to children from Reception to Year 6. Castlefields Nursery is led by a fully qualified teacher, supported by two teaching assistants. They have a large outdoor area, with a Learning Lodge where the children can access the Early Years curriculum outdoors every day in all weathers if they choose to. Nursery children also have a weekly visit to our large Woodland School area which is located on the school site – currently on a Friday. They offer universal Nursery Education Funded hours, up to a maximum of 15 hours per week – with 3-hour sessions offered each morning. Castlefields Nursery setting is part of a one form entry primary school and as such, transition from Nursery to Reception is straightforward. Castlefields Primary School and Nursery are an inclusive setting, that are able to meet the identified needs of children, including those supported with an Education Health Care Plan (EHCP). We adapt our practice when necessary and provide targeted interventions and support so that children with SEND are helped to achieve their full potential.
