Shropshire Council no longer provides a Pest Control service. If you have an insect or rodent infestation, the following information may be of help: Tenants: If you rent your property and you have an insect or rodent infestation then you should contact your landlord or Housing Association to establish who is responsible for addressing the problem. The owner of the building are mostly responsible for the buildings condition and remedial work might be required to address any possible future reinfestations. Home owners: If the infestation is in your property and you own the property, then you are responsible for pest control. It is recommended that you use an approved company which has signed up to one of the recognised industry bodies such as the British Pest Control Association or the National Pest Technicians Association. It is advisable to get more than one quote, confirm what is included in the treatment cost, and get recommendations or use a trade review site where possible. Guidance notes on wasps, bees, rodents, and other pests are available by following the link provided to Shropshire Council’s Pest Control webpage.
