Tai Chi is a gentle form of exercise involving movements through a series of specific postures at a slow constant pace without tension in the body or limbs. It improves balance and coordination, strengthens posture, and relaxes both mind and body. The practice of Tai Chi also: gently exercises the entire body, strengthens muscles, joints, organs and bones, soothes the mind and body, helps prevent illness and heal injuries, and enhances and regulates natural vitality. Classes take place at Mayfair Community Centre, each Friday morning, from 9.30am to 10.45am, and cost £9.50 per session, or £44.50 for a block booking of six sessions. There are no belts, gradings, or certificates – students advance at their own pace. Everyone is welcome and anyone can benefit from joining these sessions.
