The Bridgnorth Lions Walk & Marathon is an annual event held usually on May Bank Holiday Monday. The Lions Walk covers a route of almost 22 miles from Bridgnorth to the top of the Brown Clee and back. The Marathon covers the same route with the addition of a lap around Brown Clee to make the distance up to 26 miles. The date for the 2026 event is Monday 04 May, and there are four walks to choose from: The Famous Bridgnorth Walk – the full course of 21.5 miles (including the route up Brown Clee), The Almost Famous Short Walk – a shorter walk of just over 9 miles (nearly all on road without the rigours of Brown Clee Hill), The Junior Walk – a popular event for children aged between 9 and 15 years, The Family Walk – follows the route of the Junior Walk, without the more strenuous stretch to the top of Brown Clee.
