The High Sheriff of Shropshire holds an Office which has ceremonial functions, especially to do with the justice system, and is responsible (through the Under Sheriff) for the execution of High Court writsHe or she undertakes a variety of voluntary work for the community, particularly connected with crime reduction. The High Sheriff changes each April and the duties of the Office cover the historic county of Shropshire, including the Borough of Telford and Wrekin.
