Squirrel Bowling Club in Alveley offers both Federation and Crown Green bowls to ladies and gentlemen. Players are welcome from age 10 upwards (supervised up to age 14). The floodlit green at the Squirrel pub is in use from April to September, with indoor short-mat bowling available in Alveley Village Hall from October to March. Equipment, advice and tuition available to all new members with a free trial period offered for the first four weeks. Teams play in the Kidderminster Federation Bowling League on Sunday mornings during the summer, as well as in the Highley Crown Green League on Tuesday evenings. Two teams play in the Shropshire Seniors (over 60s) leagues on a Wednesday afternoon. Teams from the Club also play indoors in the winter at Stourport, and at the Bylet Bridgnorth, in addition to short-mat bowling in the Alveley Village Hall on Wednesday evenings, Thursday mornings and Thursday evening club nights. Annual membership fees for 2022-2023: £70 for adults; £10 social membership; and £5 for juniors still in full-time education.
