Harlescott Junior School caters for children aged 7-11 years within the local area of Sundorne in the north of Shrewsbury. We are an inclusive school and our aim is to raise standards by promoting a school ethos which is underpinned by core values. Our school has a Pastoral and Learning Mentor team which help support children who require social and emotional support. This support can be on a one to one basis or group work based on social skills, self-esteem and friendships. The school received outstanding for its SEN provision by the Local Authority and has achieved the Gold Quality Mark. Our school works with a wide range of SEND professionals who are able to assess children when we feel that they need extra support and can offer strategies to support school. We offer extended school activities: Breakfast Club, a range of extra-curricular activities run by members of staff as well as wrap around care by Little Explorers based at Sundorne Infants School. The school is wheel chair accessible via main doors and a junior playground door. There is ramped access to the hall, dining room and one outside classroom. There is a disabled toilet facility encompassing adapted toilet seating and a shower.
