Welshpool and District u3a (University of the Third Age) is a shared learning organisation, affiliated to the Third Age Trust and part of a countrywide movement for people no longer working but who want to keep their brains active. The Branch hold a monthly meeting, usually with a speaker, for the whole membership, at COWSHACC on the first Wednesday of each month, from 10.30am to 12noon. They also offer a large number of interest groups attended by smaller numbers of members, for example: Bird watching, Digital photography, Dog walking, Everything textiles, Garden group, Local history, Lunch group, Medieval history, Strolling, Walking, Wine appreciation, and Psychology / NPL.
