The South Shropshire Constituency of the Labour Party covers a wide area from Bishops Castle in the West to Bridgnorth in the East, and from Ludlow in the South to the outskirts of Shrewsbury in the North. Constituency-wide activity is co-ordinated by the General Meeting which usually takes place in alternate months, with additional special meetings when needed. The General Meeting is open to all party members in the constituency and takes place both in person, normally at Onibury Village Hall, but members are also able to participate via an online link. The Constituency is organised in three Branch areas: Bridgnorth and Highley Branch – takes in the towns and parishes of Bridgnorth, Cleobury Mortimer, and Highley; Broseley and District Branch – takes in the towns and parishes in Broseley, Much Wenlock and the Severn Valley; Shropshire Hills Branch – takes in the towns and parishes of Clee Hill, Corvedale, Craven Arms, Church Stretton, Dorrington, Chirbury, Bishops Castle, Clun and Ludlow. Branches also hold regular business and policy discussion meetings, which may be online, but there are also in-person social events and get-togethers where members can meet on a more informal basis. All branches are involved in campaigning on issues both local and national, and select and support candidates for local, regional and national elections.
