Whittington Castle is near Oswestry. The strikingly picturesque and romantic ruins are steeped in much history, tales of bitter border warfare, romance and legend. Whittington Castle is an historic landmark and is set in about 12 acres of ground. It is the remains of a Norman home. The castle has ivy clad ruined walls, a medieval moat and is a site of special wildlife interest. Whilst visiting Whittington Castle people can feed the ducks and watch the family of Swans. The castle provides duck food for people to purchase. The ducks are extremely tame. There are many family walks around the grounds of the castle. The grounds are always open.
