RAFAKidz Cosford offers childcare for children aged 3 months to 5 years. The nursery is set just within RAF Cosford and offers large outdoor spaces. Each room has access to an outdoor area and there is also a large garden area and forest school area. The nursery serves both civilian and military families for under 5’s. Children have opportunities of watching planes going over the nursery and trains going by. We provide government funded places for two, three, and four year olds. From our extensive nursery space, to our five bespoke rooms with engaging outdoor play areas, handpicked staff, nutritious meals, and much more – there’s plenty of reasons to choose RAFAKidz Cosford for your child. Costs per day are £57.60 for Civilian families and £48.50 for Military families. Local offer: Staff will use their observational skills to identify any gaps in a child’s development and learning. Staff will speak to parents/carer’s and also the Nursery SENCO. As part of the early intervention the SENCO with agreement from parents, will set SMART Targets known as assess, plan, do and review cycles that are used to support individual children’s needs The child’s key person will work on their Smart targets with the child. After 6 weeks these are reviewed to see what impact the early intervention has had. If no or little progress is made another cycle of SMART targets are set and again reviewed in 6 weeks. If no progress is still not made after 2 cycles of Assess, plan and review cycles and with parent’s agreement the SENCO would refer to outside agencies. One member of staff has received talk boost training and this is used for children with speech and language delays and also will follow advice and strategies from the Speech and Language Therapist. Nursery will apply for enhancement funding from the Local Authority to support the needs of the individual child.
