If you haven’t got the use of a car, or you find it difficult (or even impossible) to access public transport, then this service is designed to help you. You will be asked to register as a member of Dial-A-Ride, but membership is free and you can join when you make your first booking. This door-to-door service normally operates Monday to Friday, from 9am to 5pm. They have a 16 seat minibus and a smaller 6 seat vehicle, and both are wheelchair accessible. Minibus drivers receive Midas training and all drivers and attendants are DBS checked. All drivers and attendants are volunteers. Car scheme drivers use their own vehicles and receive a contribution to the journey cost from the passenger (at Shropshire Community Cars’ rate). All journeys must be pre booked and some flexibility regarding booking times for non-urgent transport is appreciated. Please note the scheme is not an emergency service.
