The object of the Caradoc and Severn Valley Field Club is to further the knowledge and study of the natural and built environments by means of lectures and excursions. This is extended to include the people and activities of Shropshire and surrounding area, past and present, together with some areas of the arts. Two programmes are compiled annually, Spring to Summer and Autumn to Winter. Lectures (normally with slides) take place in Shrewsbury on Wednesday mornings. Excursions are a mix of full or half day, also mid-week, and take place primarily in Shropshire and surrounding area.
