Magistrates in the Community is a group of serving magistrates currently sitting at Telford Court. The group is very keen to give talks. The Magistrates provide two main kinds of talks: They talk to schools and colleges, and the talks fit into the National Curriculum Citizenship Syllabus for junior and secondary schools. They give more general talks to society groups about local justice, how to become a magistrate and what they do. Talks can involve power point presentations, quizzes and sentencing exercises depending on the place, and are free of charge, although community groups are asked to give a donation to the Magistrates’ Association. The presentation can be delivered at a time and venue of your choosing.
