Grieving for the loss of a pet, whether through death, parting or enforced separation, can be a sad and difficult experience. Sometimes it helps to share feelings with someone who knows from personal experience how distressing the loss of a pet can be for a child or young person, and who will listen with understanding and compassion. The Pet Bereavement Support Service offers support through its confidential telephone helpline and email service. Trained volunteers are available to provide a listening ear for children as well as information for parents, teachers and guardians about the effect the loss of a pet is having on a child or young person.Facebook support group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/bluecrosspetloss Blue Cross – Find your Nearest Service http://www.bluecross.org.uk/1714/visit-us.html Blue Cross – Pet Bereavement Support Service Contact Form https://www.bluecross.org.uk/about-pbss Availability information The support line 0800 096 6606 is open from 8.30am – 8.30pm every day of the year.
