The Whitchurch Waterway Trust is dedicated to promoting the re-generation and rebuilding of the Whitchurch Arm of the Llangollen Canal. The Trust plans to build an extension to the already restored section of the Whitchurch Arm and a new basin which will provide more free mooring places for visitors who arrive by boat. A start has been made in 2017 by moving some soil, improving paths and providing a picnic area. The Trust maintains the already restored part of the Whitchurch Arm (from Chemistry Bridge to its junction with the main line of the Llangollen canal) and offers free 48-hr visitor moorings for boaters, some long term moorings and winter moorings for boaters who prefer to stay in one place during the winter months. The towpath of the Arm provides a pleasant walk which allows walkers to access the towpath of the main line of the Llangollen Canal and forms part of the Shropshire Way and Sandstone Trail. A Canal Festival is held in the Arm every year, usually in late summer. For more information, please follow the link to visit their website.
