Family Friendly Walks. Brown Moss Bogginess, Brown Moss is a short 1 mile circular walk around the sponge-like mosses & through the wood.At one time it was a big lake like Ellesmere. It’s been clogged up with dead plants to make thick black peat. Frogs, toads and newts love Brown Moss.Water voles also like the Moss.
