Wem Millennium Green is a ‘space to breathe’ maintained for the benefit of the local community, which is open all day, every day. The Wem Millennium Green Trust was formed to mark the Millennium, and also to create a public space of lasting beauty which is accessible to all, including those less mobile members of the community. The Green is maintained totally by volunteers, and the Trust is keen to welcome new volunteers of all ages and abilities, to help with the continued development of the garden, to participate with fundraising for the maintenance of the green, and to enjoy learning a new skill and developing a passion for horticulture. The Green can be a place for quiet reflection, but is also available for community events, such as regular plant and craft fayres.
