The British Red Cross charity welcomes volunteers who are able to offer time to assist with a range of local services. Volunteering offers you the chance to meet new people, and learn new skills, as well as helping people get the support they need if crisis strikes. However much time you have and whatever your experience, there are lots of UK volunteering opportunities at the British Red Cross, including: supporting people to live independently; helping get people mobile by supporting the wheelchair hire service; being an interpreter or translator; volunteering to help in emergencies; helping out in a Red Crosss shop; helping with admin in one of their offices; or volunteering time as a driver, trainer or teacher. By volunteering some of your spare time, you can expect: to make a real difference to someone’s life; to be valued and respected, whoever you are and whatever your background; recognition of the skills and experience you bring to the organisation; opportunities to expand your role and learn new skills; and to receive agreed out of pocket expenses when you give them your time. Volunteers need to be at least 15 years of age, and are able to make your volunteering role your own. For more information, please follow the links to their website, or use the contact details provided. As well as volunteering time, you can also help British Red Cross in many other ways: donating, attending events, helping with fundraising, joining their Facebook community, supporting your local Red Cross charity shop, inspiring the next generation with lessons and quizzes. https://www.facebook.com/BritishRedCross Information about the British Red Cross. http://www.redcross.org.uk Information about how to get involved in the British Red Cross. https://www.redcross.org.uk/get-involved We're sorry but <%= htmlWebpackPlugin.options.title %> doesn't work properly without JavaScript enabled.
